The new term contract starts<\/span> from 1 October 2025 and is expected to be worth \u00a3385m over the initial term.<\/span><\/p>\n There is also the potential to be extended for a further two periods of seven years to 21 years in total, according to the original tender documents.<\/span><\/p>\n Ringway will focus on<\/span> improving the <\/span>operational delivery of day-to-day services such as road maintenance,<\/span> fixing potholes,<\/span> street lighting<\/span> and signal <\/span>repairs, responding to emergencies and seasonal gritting<\/span>, <\/span>grass cutting <\/span>and improvement schemes. <\/span><\/p>\n The contractor\u2019s bid<\/span> focussed on innova<\/span>tive and sustainable projects <\/span>such as<\/span> ambitious apprenticeship programmes <\/span>and building a strong local supply chain<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n Recognising<\/span> previous<\/span> trials such as the<\/span> pothole preventing robot and e<\/span>lectric gritter<\/span>, the partnership <\/span>will <\/span>go further<\/span> towards our plans<\/span> for carbon neutral operations by 2030<\/span> and <\/span>l<\/span>eading the way in technological innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n Cllr Phil Bibby, executive member for Highways and Transport at Hertfordshire County Council said: \u201cWhile we had three excellent bids, Ringway<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s vision for an innovative, data driven service<\/span>, <\/span>focused on efficient and effective operational delivery for our residents<\/span>,<\/span> sealed the deal. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe commitments they made in relation to trialing new fuels, introducing more electric vehicles to their fleets and using recyclable materials where possible will go a long way to supporting us in our cleaner, <\/span>greener,<\/span> and healthier ambitions.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Mitesh Solanki, Managing Director of Ringway said: <\/span>\u201c<\/span>Credit goes to the <\/span>effort<\/span>s<\/span> of th<\/span>ose <\/span>who put together the bid <\/span>with support from many parts of our wider group<\/span> \u2013 they<\/span> challenged us to evolve a sustainable and innovative 21-year vision for the highway service for Hertfordshire<\/span> and we\u2019re pleased to have been awarded an initial core seven<\/span>\u2013<\/span>year contract<\/span> with the prospect of an increased term beyond<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
