{"id":29864,"date":"2025-04-06T16:38:21","date_gmt":"2025-04-06T23:38:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/police-hunt-boss-on-the-run-after-site-manslaughter-charge\/"},"modified":"2025-04-06T16:38:21","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T23:38:21","slug":"police-hunt-boss-on-the-run-after-site-manslaughter-charge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/police-hunt-boss-on-the-run-after-site-manslaughter-charge\/","title":{"rendered":"Police hunt boss on the run after site manslaughter charge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"post-496612\">\n\t<!-- .entry-header --><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Peter Clifford, formerly of Holland Road, Felixstowe, was charged with three offences in October last year following the death of construction worker Dale Baker in December 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Clifford was charged with gross negligence manslaughter and safety offences and his firm Hintonwood East Anglia Ltd also faced safety charges after Baker died in a collapsed trench during extension work on a house.<\/p>\n<p>Clifford was summonsed to appear before Ipswich Magistrates\u2019 Court on Friday 15 November 2024, but then failed to attend a subsequent hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday 20 March and was also absent at a further hearing on Friday 4 April.<\/p>\n<p>Following his first failure to appear, the court issued a warrant for his arrest and police are now appealing for assistance from the public to locate him.<\/p>\n<p>Clifford is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, bald with receding hair at the sides and of heavy build.
