The upgrades will also install a new rescue system to improve emergency access for workers operating within the pylons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"721\" data-end=\"823\">The firm will work alongside BEAR Scotland and designer Jacobs on the logistically challenging scheme.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"825\" data-end=\"1102\">Further south, Spencer has also landed a complex job to replace original 1960s thrust bearings on the Forth Road Bridge. The work forms part of the bridge\u2019s Critical Element Programme and involves extensive temporary works, including new access systems and steel strengthening.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_497467\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Forth-Road-Bridge-scaled-3.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-497467 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Forth-Road-Bridge-scaled-3.jpg\" alt=\"-\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1366\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Forth Road Bridge<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1104\" data-end=\"1175\">Enabling works kick off next year with bearing replacement due in 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1177\" data-end=\"1443\">On the Tay Road Bridge, the firm will replace two ageing underdeck gantries that have been in place since the 1980s.
