Construction on The Residences at Central Park<\/a>\u2019s Phase 1 has made significant progress since UrbanToronto\u2019s\u00a0March, 2025 update<\/a>. Located at the northwest corner of Leslie Street and Sheppard Avenue East in North York\u2019s Bayview Village neighbourhood, the masterplanned community by\u00a0Amexon Development Corporation<\/a> designed by\u00a0Core Architects<\/a> spans 12 acres. It will deliver five towers ranging from 12 to 31 storeys.\u00a0<\/p>\n The project is anchored by a three-acre central park and features a mix of residential, office, and retail uses, all connected by pedestrian-friendly paths and internal roads. With easy access to Leslie subway station and nearby bus routes, the development is positioned as a new transit-oriented community at the eastern edge of the Yonge-Sheppard corridor.<\/p>\n In this March, 2025 view looking northeast, Phase 1 had reached the eighth level, with formwork starting on the first tower floors where they step back from the podium as of the seventh level. Along the south elevation, glazing is contrasted with white aluminum accent panels installed up to the fourth floor. The second level cantilevers prominently over the extra-height ground floor, supported by exposed concrete columns, which will house amenities and retail. Below grade, four levels of the underground parking garage are formed. Site-wide, EV charging stations will be available at every parking stall.<\/p>\n In this east-facing view, excavation is all but complete, and foundation work is underway for Phase 2, which will introduce one 19- and two 31-storey towers atop a shared podium with 35,000 ft\u00b2 of retail. Rebar cages project vertically from the snowy pit floor, marking future column placements as the site prepares for column and wall forming. Orange tarps line the excavation walls, while a new crane will facilitate construction of the second tower. Underground passage between the first and second phases will provide climate controlled access to shared amenities. This southern portion of the site will also undergo slope restoration and trail connections to the East Don Parkland.<\/p>\n Seen from across the East Don River in this early April, 2025 view, Phase 1 emerges above the treeline on the right, now reaching the 12th storey, while formwork is in place for the 13th level along the tower\u2019s east elevation. The construction hoist is affixed near the northeast corner, and glazing and precast cladding are installed up to the sixth floor. The view highlights the development\u2019s relationship with its ravine-edge setting, with the riprapped riverbank and existing natural buffers reinforcing the project\u2019s aim of merging urban density with nature.<\/p>\n Earlier this month, we look north to the tower, now 15 storeys,\u00a0 approximately halfway to its eventual 31-storey height. On the south elevation, vertical strips of white aluminum cladding now reach the sixth floor, while floor-to-ceiling glazing has been installed from the seventh through ninth floors, with partial coverage at the tenth. Out of frame, preparations are underway for the installation of a third crane that has since been installed.\u00a0<\/p>\n Phase 1 is targeting initial occupancy in February, 2026, to be followed by the south-end Phase 2 towers and the site\u2019s commercial spine, delivering retail and public space surrounding the Central Park Common. At full build-out, The Residences at Central Park will deliver 1,478 residential suites across five towers ranging in height from 46.5m to 105.9m.<\/p>\n UrbanToronto will continue to follow progress on this development, but in the meantime, you can learn more about it from our Database file, linked below.
