Construction continues to transform the Six Points area of Etobicoke, where eight tower cranes remain active at Kipling and Dundas. On the south half of the site, work is advancing on\u00a0The Stella<\/a>, the official marketing name for a residential complex inclduing 26- and 30-storey towers at 5207 Dundas Street West. Designed by\u00a0Henriquez Partners Architects<\/a> for\u00a0Tricon Residential<\/a>,\u00a0Kilmer Group<\/a>, and\u00a0CreateTO<\/a>, the project forms part of the City of Toronto\u2019s Housing Now initiative, delivering a mix of affordable and market-rate rental housing in a transit-connected neighbourhood. North across the street from The Stella, the new\u00a0Etobicoke Civic Centre<\/a> also continues to grow.<\/p>\n Since\u00a0UrbanToronto\u2019s last update<\/a> in March, 2025, The Stella has now risen above grade, with cladding installation underway on the east elevation. In May, 2025, cladding had reached the third level at the south end. Precast concrete panels with angular, faceted profiles are being mounted, giving the facade dimensionality through light and shadow. These panels feature pronounced reveals and tapered frames that highlight the depth of each window opening. A telescopic mobile boom crane is parked at the forefront for ongoing panel placement, while a flatbed trailer equipped with steel lifting frames stands ready.<\/p>\n Later that month, this north-facing view captured mounting brackets and anchors visible in the cavity between the structural slab edges and the precast panels. In the backgrouns to the north, two of the cranes at work on the new Etobicoke Civic Centre site can be seen.<\/p>\n Taken from just outside Kipling station’s east entrance, this northeast-facing view showcases The Stella\u2019s sculpted massing as it curves inward to frame a future courtyard within its arms. Extensive shoring posts are visible at grade where concrete continues to cure, and a rectilinear volume projects out at the east end, where sturdy concrete columns support the slab edge at grade. Formwork is in place atop the podium for the ongoing sixth-floor construction.<\/p>\n Looking southwest across Dundas Street West, this wide view captures the north elevation, where current progress steps from three to five storeys as it moves southward. Shoring and scaffolding is densely packed along the Dundas frontage. A concrete boom pump is stationed at the southeast corner, where the initial precast cladding panels are in place below. At the northeast corner, tall reinforced concrete columns support the double-height ground floor.<\/p>\n At the northwest corner, we have a clear illustration of the stepped vertical progression across the podium. At left, the structure has reached its third level, with decking and slab formwork in place above. Toward the centre, the fourth floor is fully formed, while rebar and formwork are being assembled for the fifth-floor columns and walls. To the right, the podium has reached five storeys, with decking laid for the sixth-floor slab, where the 26-storey tower will rise. Extensive shoring systems line the elevation, while the tiered massing begins to articulate the future base for the two high-rises.<\/p>\n Upon completion, The Stella will introduce 725 rental units across towers reaching heights of 85.3m and 98.5m.<\/p>\n UrbanToronto will continue to follow progress on this development, but in the meantime, you can learn more about it from our Database file, linked below.
