UrbanToronto last provided an update on\u00a0Rushden Station<\/a> at\u00a0the start of this year<\/a>, and since then, construction continues to push upward alongside Danforth GO station in Toronto\u2019s East End. Designed by\u00a0bKL Architecture<\/a> for\u00a0Fitzrovia Real Estate Inc.<\/a>, the first phase of the purpose-built rental development consists of three towers rising 29, 37, and 39 storeys atop a 10-storey podium that spans the narrow site between Main Street and Dawes Road.<\/p>\n In this March, 2025 view looking west, the three cranes stand in close alignment, marking each tower rising from the shared 10-storey podium. At the forefront, the 37-storey east block remains at grade with foundation elements in place, having built rapidly built owing to the absence of underground parking here. (As the development backs on a railway corridor, the parking will be in the podium.) The central tower, the future tallest of Phase 1 at 39 storeys, has progressed to its second floor, while the west tower has advanced furthest, with formwork and rebar in place for fifth level work.\u00a0<\/p>\n In April, 2025, the south elevation was captured rising adjacent to the tracks in the northwest-facing view below. Formwork is in place for the eighth floor of the west tower, the furthest progressed section on site. Moving east, the central tower’s fourth floor is under construction, with rebar projecting from formed concrete, and climbing formwork flanking the core. A temporary ramp spans the southern facade near the orange-clad central crane, providing access to the second storey.<\/p>\n This month from the Main Street bridge over the rails, we look northeast towards the site. The concrete crash wall is obvious, forming a protective barrier in case of train derailment, behind which the podium’s parking levels start. Above the podium, the fifth-floor terrace area is formed, with a parapet wall wrapping the area where outdoor amenities will surround the tower bases. The west tower has reached nine storeys, and formwork cascades downward the futher east you go, as the podium\u2019s mid-sections continue to rise, with an additional five podium floors to rise between the towers.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the north elevation showcases parapets formed along portions of the second through fifth floors. At the northwest corner, a construction hoist mast is being installed, with wooden panels on either side up to the fifth floor. The ground remains a staging area, with formwork and other materials visible.\u00a0<\/p>\n Looking south across the east end of the adjacent parking lot, formwork has been set above the second-floor slab around the east-most crane, hidden behind the tree, while rebar and concrete shear walls are rising on the third level to the right. To the right, floors continue to stack in a stepped sequence, reaching four and then five storeys beneath the central crane. At centre-right, a deliberate break in the parapet signals space likely allocated for a future construction hoist for the middle tower.<\/p>\n Together, the three towers are set to deliver 922 rental units, rising to final heights of 108.25m, 132.20m, and 138.10m. The next phase,\u00a0Tower D<\/a>, still under zoning review, is proposed directly east at 57 storeys or 194.55m.\u00a0<\/p>\n UrbanToronto will continue to follow progress on this development, but in the meantime, you can learn more about it from our Database file, linked below.
