The projects range in scale from a subdivision of two-storey homes, to a 38-storey tower, to mixed-use neighbourhoods. Several approvals secured affordable housing commitments.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"995\" data-end=\"1037\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Here\u2019s a closer look at what was approved:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Northern Toronto<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/hangar-district.51464\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Hangar District<\/strong><\/a><br \/>Council approved zoning amendments for the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/hangar-district.51464\" target=\"_blank\">Hangar District<\/a>, designed by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/perkins-eastman.18610\" target=\"_blank\">Perkins Eastman<\/a>, the first phase of the 520-acre <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/yzd.51564\" target=\"_blank\">YZD Downsview redevelopment<\/a> by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/northcrest-developments.46723\" target=\"_blank\">Northcrest Developments<\/a>. The approved plan includes 2,957 residential units\u2014approximately 10% of them affordable\u2014alongside new parks, institutional uses, and roughly 270,000m\u00b2 of employment and commercial space. The building would rise 13m and contain 41 rental units, up from <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/news\/2020\/08\/four-storey-apartment-building-proposed-finch-east-bathurst.42999\" target=\"_blank\">an initial plan for 29 units<\/a>. Designed by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/mar-architect-inc.49219\" target=\"_blank\">MAR Architect Inc.<\/a> for <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/regency-property.50047\" target=\"_blank\">Regency Property<\/a>, the Willowdale project would rise to 41m with 503 residential units and 600m\u00b2 of non-residential space at grade. The revised proposal designed by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/arcadis.8006\" target=\"_blank\">Arcadis<\/a> for <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/richelieu-and-stadacona-development.49818\" target=\"_blank\">Richelieu and Stadacona Development<\/a> rises 47.45m with 190 rental units, including 13 replacement units, up from <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/news\/2022\/11\/mixed-use-10-storey-proposal-south-wilson-bathurst.50182\" target=\"_blank\">10 storeys and 170 units<\/a>. The amendment replaces a previously required office component with general commercial use. The 13-storey, 58.5m high building is designed by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/montgomery-sisam-architects.8027\" target=\"_blank\">Montgomery Sisam Architects<\/a> for <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/createto.7659\" target=\"_blank\">CreateTO<\/a>, and would deliver 378 long-term care units.
