The new home for Blackpool and The Fylde College will be built on Cookson Street and eventually bring up to 3,000 students and staff into the area as part of the town\u2019s \u00a3350m Talbot Gateway regeneration.<\/p>\n
Morgan Sindall is managing the demolition and construction programme, with a strong focus on using local labour and subcontractors throughout the job.<\/p>\n
The first houses will be knocked down at the junction of Grosvenor Street, Milbourne Street and Charles Street in the coming weeks. Demolition will then continue in phases into next year ahead of main construction work starting in 2026.<\/p>\n
The new five-storey campus will deliver more than 70 courses and act as a launchpad for a new flexible model of higher education designed to match market demand and improve skills across the region.<\/p>\n
Street closures and road changes are being rolled out to improve pedestrian and vehicle access around the site, supported by a \u00a35.6m government-funded Town Centre Access Scheme.<\/p>\n
In the short term, cleared plots will be used for temporary parking, while a second phase of the Multiversity scheme is already in early planning.<\/p>\n
The new campus is backed by a \u00a39m land acquisition grant and \u00a340m of construction funding from central government.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
