{"id":31668,"date":"2025-08-04T08:54:27","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T15:54:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/profit-recovery-continues-at-laing-orourke\/"},"modified":"2025-08-04T08:54:27","modified_gmt":"2025-08-04T15:54:27","slug":"profit-recovery-continues-at-laing-orourke","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/profit-recovery-continues-at-laing-orourke\/","title":{"rendered":"Profit recovery continues at Laing O\u2019Rourke"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The construction giant saw pre-tax profit for the year to March 31 2025 hit \u00a341.5m from \u00a314.1m last time with turnover steady at \u00a33.9bn.<\/p>\n<p>At the Europe hub pre-tax profits were \u00a314m from a \u00a321m loss last time as revenue fell to \u00a32.3bn from \u00a32.5bn.<\/p>\n<p>Staff numbers also decreased at the Europe hub to 7,104 from 8,083.<\/p>\n<p>The profit rise continues a turnaround at the company after it posted its worst loss ever in 2023 when the firm plunged \u00a3288m into the red when problem jobs blew a hole in the books.<\/p>\n<p>Tighter cost controls are now paying off with the company also enjoying a record order book of \u00a311.9bn with a strong start to the financial year 2026 including the signing of the Sizewell C Civil Works Alliance agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Group Chief Executive Officer, Cathal O\u2019Rourke, said:\u00a0\u201cOur drive to create a more resilient and productive construction industry continues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are leading the way on modern methods of construction and digital engineering, enabling us to deliver projects with greater precision and efficiency and improving\u00a0 safety on site.
