Canadian-based construction training simulator manufacturer CM Labs recently hosted an AEM Day at its Montreal headquarters, welcoming industry professionals and representatives from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) for an afternoon dedicated innovation, strategic collaboration and future-focused initiatives.<\/p>\n
Organized by AEM and CM Labs, the event included presentations from the company and the association, followed by deep dives into AEM\u2019s advocacy work, innovation in the industry and future challenges and opportunities.<\/p>\n
\u201cBringing AEM members together at our Montreal headquarters allowed us to strengthen connections and exchange ideas that matter to our industry,\u201d said Lisa Barbieri, CM Labs vice-president of marketing and strategic partnerships. \u201cIt was a privilege to help create a space where meaningful conversations could take place around workforce development, policy, and innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n
AEM\u2019s senior advisor of global public policy, Alex Russ, and Jean-Michel Laurin of Tactix Government Relations and Public Affairs provided a detailed look at AEM\u2019s advocacy efforts, including evolving government policy in Canada, as they emphasized how trade relations and public infrastructure priorities affect member businesses.<\/p>\n
Kody Blois, MP and parliamentary secretary to the prime minister, also joined virtually to discuss policy priorities of the current Canadian federal government and to engage directly with attendees during a live question and answer session. That was followed by a roundtable discussion on key challenges and opportunities facing the industry in 2025 and beyond.<\/p>\n
After the discussions, attendees had the opportunity to visit the state-of-the-art Sim Yard, CM Labs\u2019 hands-on proving ground, where guests explored the full suite of training simulators and witnessed firsthand how innovation is shaping the future of heavy equipment operations.<\/p>\n
