On August 18th, a new public space officially opened in Toronto\u2019s Wilson Heights area, as Collecdev-Markee Developments<\/a> celebrated the debut of Milton Berger Park. The green space at 21 Monte Kwinter Court anchors the growing Tippett Park community, joining the developer’s Tretti Condos<\/a> and rental tower to deliver housing alongside a landscaped gathering place designed for residents of all ages.<\/p>\n The opening was marked with a community gathering led by Councillor James Pasternak, joined by representatives from Collecdev-Markee Developments and members of the Berger family. Remarks highlighted both the significance of the new green space within the Tippett Park community and the lasting contributions of Milton Berger, whose name the park now carries.<\/p>\n Berger was a Holocaust survivor who immigrated to Canada in 1949 and went on to serve as a long-time Toronto councillor. He was a strong advocate for affordable and seniors\u2019 housing, and played a central role in establishing the Holocaust monument at Earl Bales Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n Milton Berger Park spans 2,580m\u00b2 and introduces a range of amenities designed to support neighbourhood gatherings. A central pathway organizes the site, connecting seating areas, planting beds, and an open lawn with programmed spaces that include a children\u2019s playground, sculptural water play features, and an outdoor fitness zone. The park\u2019s layout aims to balance active and passive spaces to create a welcoming setting for residents and visitors.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was incredible to see more than 500 people come together to celebrate the opening of Milton Berger Park,” said Jennifer Keesmaat, President and CEO of Collecdev-Markee Developments. “One of the most meaningful moments was meeting a group of mothers who had recently moved into the Tretti neighbourhood as newcomers to Canada. They told us they met in the park, formed a mother\u2019s group, and now gather here with their children. Stories like this remind us that beyond the buildings, what we\u2019re really creating are places where people can belong and thrive.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n The park forms part of the larger Tippett Park development, a collaboration by Collecdev-Markee that has introduced more than 500 new homes to the larger Wilson Heights area. At its core are two residential buildings designed by gh3<\/a>: Tretti Condos at 30 Tretti Way, a 13-storey condominium with 340 units, and the adjacent 16-storey rental building at 18 Tretti Way, which adds 176 purpose-built rental apartments. Together, they deliver 516 homes, including 50 affordable rental and 50 affordable ownership units, expanding both market and attainable housing options within the community.<\/p>\n Beyond housing, the development includes a mix of retail and amenities, with 1,056m\u00b2 of retail space activating the ground plane. The project also incorporates a strong sustainability agenda, with geo-exchange systems supplied by Geosource Energy and Diverso Energy, reducing reliance on conventional energy sources.\u00a0<\/p>\n The new park and residential buildings contribute to the ongoing transformation of the area around Wilson station, where former parking lots and light industrial uses are giving way to medium-density, transit-oriented development.
