The latest list retains efforts identified by DOL in August \u2014 such as proposed rules on the FLSA\u2019s joint-employer and worker classification standards \u2014 as well as a separate section on <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reginfo.gov\/public\/do\/eAgendaMain?operation=OPERATION_GET_AGENCY_RULE_LIST&amp;currentPubId=202504&amp;showStage=longterm&amp;agencyCd=1200&amp;csrf_token=4BDA968CF55B9F1DDDBFE0519FD280572A393ACDB4FF0DBACE6DD6BB1A50B3D6F3CFE405DF176B0D93DC0165C6F66F8A9CF8\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>long-term regulatory projects<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> including an overtime rule.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Timelines on the different proposals vary. For example, DOL estimated that an updated <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reginfo.gov\/public\/do\/eAgendaViewRule?pubId=202504&amp;RIN=1235-AA46\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>independent contractor rulemaking<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> could come by the end of September, while a proposed rule on <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reginfo.gov\/public\/do\/eAgendaViewRule?pubId=202504&amp;RIN=1235-AA48\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>joint-employer regulations<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> was given a December 2025 estimate.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u201cThis regulatory agenda reflects our steadfast commitment to restoring economic opportunity by fostering innovation and reducing unnecessary burdens on employers,\u201d Deputy Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling said in DOL\u2019s press release. \u201cBy modernizing outdated rules and prioritizing clarity and efficiency, we\u2019re building a more agile, worker-centered labor policy framework that fuels economic growth and prosperity.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>DOL said its <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reginfo.gov\/public\/do\/eAgendaViewRule?pubId=202504&amp;RIN=1235-AA47\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>next action on overtime pay eligibility standards<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> is undetermined and similarly did not provide a firm date on when it would take action.
