The restructure will see long-serving fitout boss Stewart Ward depart.<\/p>\n
From January 2026, the \u00a32.1bn revenue Construct group will operate through three business units: Commercial; Infrastructure; and Public, Science and Technology.<\/p>\n
These will be led by existing managing directors Ged Simmonds, Nigel Cole and Rob Lemming, respectively.<\/p>\n
Fitout will be folded into the new Commercial arm, but Ward has opted to leave to pursue opportunities elsewhere.<\/p>\n
Alister Grey will continue to lead data centre opportunities in the UK and Ireland under the Public, Science and Technology unit.<\/p>\n
Chief executive Jason Millett said the changes followed a detailed review of the business.<\/p>\n
\u201cMace Construct is focused on remaining one of the UK\u2019s leading contractors, and following a considered process of review we are moving to a new operating model that will allow us to focus more on what we do best \u2013 contracting, construction management and specialist services.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said Mace Construct was is on track for revenue and margin growth this year with major wins including 85 Gracechurch Street, the British Library and Euston Tower.<\/p>\n
The restructure comes ahead of Mace Consult\u2019s separation from the group following a majority investment by private equity specialist Goldman Sachs Alternatives, expected to close later this year.<\/p>\n
Several of Mace\u2019s shareholders, including executive chair Mark Reynolds and CEO Jason Millett, will retain a minority stake in Mace Consult and will work closely with Goldman Sachs Alternatives as members of the new Mace Consult Board.<\/p>\n
Reynolds will be appointed as chair.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
