Chryso has officially opened its state-of-the-art concrete application lab in Calgary. The company, a global leader in sustainable construction solutions and part of Saint-Gobain Construction Chemicals, says the strategic investment strengthens its technical presence in Canada and provides fast, localized support for the region\u2019s unique concrete performance challenges.<\/p>\n

Designed to meet the specific needs of Alberta\u2019s concrete industry, and acknowledging the extreme temperature swings and rapid environmental changes present in the region, the company says the facility will enable hands-on testing and customized support for concrete mix optimization, cement compatibility, aggregate behaviour and supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), all tailored to local conditions.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlberta\u2019s climate creates some of the most complex concrete conditions in North America,\u201d said Brenton Smith, Chryso district manager for Western Canada. \u201cFrom rapid slump loss in hot, dry summers to curing challenges in the winter, our new lab allows us to work directly with local producers to engineer concrete mixes that perform reliably year-round.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Calgary lab expands Chryso\u2019s network of technical facilities across North America. The company recently opened labs in Los Angeles and Chicago as well; investments the company says are part of Chryso North America\u2019s long-term strategy to ensure timely, local support for customers by bringing advanced capabilities closer to job sites and production facilities.<\/p>\n
