Barking & Dagenham Council\u2019s planning committee gave unanimous backing to the latest phase of the East London mega-scheme, which will be delivered in partnership with the Mayor of London through Barking Riverside Limited (BRL).<\/p>\n

The new plans cover 12 blocks ranging from four to 15 storeys on a site east of the future District Centre.<\/p>\n

Construction is due to start at plot 210 in April 2026, with work to be delivered by L&Q\u2019s in-house construction team, which has already handed over 709 homes at Barking Riverside.<\/p>\n

Around 30% of the homes will be for social rent and 28% for London Living Rent, targeted at first-time buyers.<\/p>\n

Almost 70% of the homes are designed for families, with two- and three-bedroom flats making up the bulk of provision.<\/p>\n

The scheme, designed by GRID Architects with planning support from Savills, will also include over 2,000 sqm of communal amenity space, rain gardens, food growing areas, and green roofs.<\/p>\n

Walsh Group is structural engineer on the job with XCO2 Energy on board as M&E engineer.<\/p>\n

The 20,000-home masterplan is backed by \u00a3124m of Homes England infrastructure funding and is one of the largest regeneration projects in Europe.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
