Phase 1 of The Residences at Central Park<\/a> has now reached its mechanical penthouse level, a major milestone for the transit-oriented community rising at Leslie Street and Sheppard Avenue East at the east end of North York’s Bayview Village neighbourhood. Designed by Core Architects<\/a> for Amexon Development Corporation<\/a>, the 12-acre site is being transformed into a five-tower, mixed-use community organized around a three-acre Central Park Common.\u00a0<\/p>\n UrbanToronto last provided an update in August, 2025<\/a> for the site within walking distance of both Leslie subway station and Oriole GO, and set above the edge of the East Don Parkland, part of Toronto’s vast ravine parks system.<\/p>\n At the start of September, 2025, looking west across the East Don River, Phase 1 is now approaching its full 31-storey height, with the glazing system climbing to within six floors of the current top floor. Floor-to-ceiling glass framed in black aluminum with white vertical accents is progressively enclosing the tower, while a construction hoist remains fixed near the northeast corner. The crane is positioned at the west end of the structure.\u00a0<\/p>\n Actions to safeguard the East Don Parkland include slope stabilization and riprap reinforcement. This month, work has advanced on site integration measures with the installation of a new stair connection leading from the development into the East Don ravine trail system. The image shows steel stringers and landings being positioned on the natural slope. Temporary orange safety fencing lines the corridor. Once completed, the work zone will be restored with native plants, while this link will tie the community into the existing trail network behind the office building at the north end of the site.<\/p>\n Most recently, Phase 1 is seen below with its 31 residential storeys completed, and construction activity shifting to the mechanical penthouse, where initial formwork is visible at the roofline. The cladding system has advanced to the 28th level along the south elevation and to the 29th on the east and west sides. Distinctive white balcony slabs articulate the south fa\u00e7ade, while the first installations of balcony guards with leaf-patterned imprints can be seen between the seventh and tenth floors, reinforcing the project\u2019s design intent to connect with the adjacent natural setting. Three cranes for Phase 2 remain active in the foreground.<\/p>\n Looking more closely at the area south of the Phase 1 tower, work is advancing on the shared garage for Phase 2, where the second and third cranes mark the footprint of the upcoming 19-storey and two 31-storey towers. The garage will accommodate electric vehicle charging at every parking stall. At grade, staging areas support a concrete mixer truck and material stockpiles. The podium to be built atop will boast 35,000 ft\u00b2 of retail space and provide underground links to Phase 1, extending access to amenities across the 12-acre masterplanned community.\u00a0<\/p>\n The broader vision organizes five towers around the three-acre Central Park Common, with landscaped pathways such as Green Trail Road integrating the development into the ravine-edge setting and creating a transit-oriented neighbourhood connected to both Leslie subway station and Oriole GO.
