The Telegraph<\/em> said two workers narrowly escaped being crushed by a steel beam swinging across a tunnel ventilation shaft\u00a0 when a gantry crane was being dismantled at the Green Park Way ventilation shaft in west London.<\/p>\n Four tunnel boring machines are currently being dismantled there and removed from the tunnels.<\/p>\n HS2 Chief Executive Officer Wild told The Telegraph<\/em>: \u201cSafety is our number one priority at HS2. Due to a serious incident, works have been safely halted across the London tunnels section of the route.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile no workers were physically harmed, our contractor, Skanska Costain STRABAG joint venture, is undertaking a comprehensive review of safety procedures and leadership on their sites before a safe restart can take place.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n
