TORONTO\u00a0\u2014\u00a0The Ontario government is partnering with the City of Toronto and Habitat for Humanity\u00a0GTA\u00a0to build 33\u00a0modular homes in a six-storey condominium building at 355\u00a0Coxwell Avenue.<\/p>\n

This site was identified by the City of Toronto as a surplus property appropriate for the construction of below-market modular homes.<\/p>\n

\u201cLessons learned through the construction of this building will inform the ongoing work the province and its partners are doing to support modular homebuilding in Ontario and keep the dream of homeownership alive,\u201d a release reads.<\/p>\n

\u201cHome prices at 355\u00a0Coxwell Avenue will be set to reflect amounts that are attainable for households with income between the 60th\u00a0and 70th\u00a0percentile in the City of Toronto. Homes will be sold at fair market value with a maximum purchaser contribution of\u00a0$500,000 in\u00a02025, indexed to future annual inflation levels.\u201d<\/p>\n

The city is investing more than $4.8\u00a0million to build the homes.<\/p>\n

Preparations for construction are currently underway. Sales are expected to begin early next year, with the homes ready for occupancy by mid-2027.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
