The majority of participating organizations \u2014 82% \u2014 were general contracting firms, and 40% of respondents generated more than $5 billion in revenue.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"standard-heading\"><span><span><span><span><span>Dive Insight:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>When asked why they were adopting AI, respondents were nearly unanimous \u2014 almost 100% of respondents said that \u201cimproving operational efficiency and productivity\u201d was a primary driver of their work, according to the news release.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>With that in mind, the report flags that companies are using AI to strengthen core business functions rather than pursue cutting-edge innovation, per the release.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>However, some of these respondents \u2014 which also featured subcontractors, specialty firms and engineers \u2014 had reservations about the tech. For example, 62% cited \u201cconcerns about data privacy and security,\u201d 58% pegged a \u201clack of internal expertise or skilled personnel\u201d and a further 56% called out \u201climited availability or quality of data.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Despite those hurdles, builders\u2019 enthusiasm for AI is high, said Audrey Lynch, BuiltWorlds\u2019 director of research and the report\u2019s author, in the release.
