Phase 1 of The Residences at Central Park<\/a> has now structurally topped off, another milestone for Amexon Development Corporation<\/a>\u2019s 12-acre masterplanned community at Leslie Street and Sheppard Avenue East. Designed by Core Architects<\/a>, the 31-storey tower stands as the first of five buildings that will eventually rise from 12 to 31 storeys. Located along the East Don River ravine, the project is improving access to nature through new stairs down to the ravine trail system, while beefing up slope stabilization and riprap reinforcement. UrbanToronto last provided an update in September, 2025<\/a>, when Phase 1 reached its mechanical penthouse section.<\/p>\n Before we get to the topping off, we look northwest to the top of the Phase 1 tower at the start of this month. This image captures the structure now formed to its 31st residential level, with the first stages of the mechanical penthouse underway above. Concrete balcony slabs extend from the south and east facades. Formwork and decking define the roofline, where crews are shaping the lower penthouse slab while preparing the upper deck section at the west end. The tower crane rises on the west side, while the construction hoist continues to operate along the northeast corner.\u00a0<\/p>\n Seen looking to the west from Sheppard Avenue east of Don Mills Road, below, the Phase 1 tower bookends the skyline of North York\u2019s Bayview Village area at its easternmost point. The balcony slab edges mark the floors, while a few levels of the leaf-patterned guards are visible above other buildings in the middle ground.<\/p>\n Most recently, we look northeast to the topped-off Phase 1 tower, with its mechanical penthouse levels now prominent on the east side. Shoring posts remain visible along the upper balconies from the 23rd floor upward. Below, balcony guards with the development\u2019s distinctive leaf-patterned motif are installed up to the 22nd floor, their panels creating a rhythm as they continue from elevation to elevation. At grade to the right, the second tower crane rises behind green construction fencing and marks the footprint for one of the Phase 2 buildings immediately to the south.<\/p>\n Beneath the buildings, a continuous underground garage will link the phases, outfitted with electric vehicle charging at every parking stall. Above, the podiums will host indoor amenities such as fitness areas and lounges, complemented by outdoor terraces overlooking the three-acre Central Park Common. Landscaped pedestrian pathways, coordinated under the Green Trail Road network, will connect residents to courtyards, retail space of roughly 35,000ft\u00b2, and a new stairway descending to the East Don ravine trail.<\/p>\n Positioned beside Leslie station on Sheppard Line 4 and within walking distance of Oriole GO station, the site will include four additional towers (two 31-storey and one 19-storey buildings south of Phase 1, and two mid-rise forms to the west) brought together by underground links and shared podium amenities. At full build-out, the five-tower community will range from 46.5m to 105.9m in height and deliver 1,478 residential suites.\u00a0<\/p>\n UrbanToronto will continue to follow progress on this development, but in the meantime, you can learn more about it from our Database file, linked below.
