It can be used to validate work-in-place for billing, identify schedule risks and help inter-trade coordination.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWith Disperse now part of OpenSpace, builders get real intelligence that is fast, accurate, and proven in the field,\u201d said Jeevan Kalanithi, CEO and co-founder of OpenSpace, in the release.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The year has been busy for OpenSpace \u2014 prior to the recent acquisition and June partnership with Disperse, the San Francisco-based firm <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>revealed OpenSpace Air in May<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, which allows contractors to gather reality-captured data on a single platform.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n OpenSpace\u2019s acquisition comes amid a spate of M&A activity in the construction industry this past month, both on the tech and the building sides. On Oct. 16, project management solution provider Buildots <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>announced that it had acquired Genda<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, a workforce and safety management platform.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n On the construction side, California builder Webcor <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>made a deal to acquire GCON<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, a construction management firm with mission critical, data center and semiconductor expertise. Earlier in the month, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Zachry Construction acquired Crescent Constructors<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, a Texas firm with expertise in water projects in a bid to capitalize on the burgeoning sector.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n And among larger contractors, Canadian infrastructure giant <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>WSP reportedly made a multibillion-dollar bid<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> for Dallas-based Jacobs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
