Underscoring its commitment to community support, Calgary-based construction firm BUILD IT recently completed an $8.9 million expansion and accessibility project at Camp Kindle, a retreat that supports children and families affected by cancer.<\/p>\n
The project will allow the camp to expand its program capacity and improve accessibility. The expansion includes a three-level multi-purpose facility with arts, teaching and wellness spaces; a staff residence to support year-round operations; new indoor and outdoor program areas; and accessibility upgrades throughout the site to better serve children with mobility challenges. Future phases will introduce a wheelchair-accessible treehouse village in the forest.<\/p>\n

For over 30 years, Kids Cancer Care has supported Alberta families facing childhood cancer with programs that restore spirits and rebuild lives including operating Camp Kindle. While more than 80 percent of Canadian children now survive cancer, nearly all face chronic or long-term health challenges. The Camp Kindle expansion ensures more families can benefit from accessible facilities that foster joy, resilience and community.<\/p>\n
