The 3km line will branch off from Gallions Reach in the Royal Dock area and run on a viaduct through Beckton Riverside before diving into a 1.5km twin-bore tunnel under the Thames to reach a new elevated station in Thamesmead town centre.<\/p>\n

Two new stations are planned. One will sit at the heart of the Beckton Riverside development, the other at Thamesmead Waterfront on Peabody\u2019s 100-hectare regeneration site.<\/p>\n

The scheme is expected to support 30,000 new homes and deliver a \u00a315.6bn boost to the London economy.<\/p>\n

TfL is inviting contractors, designers and suppliers to help shape the delivery model for the project.<\/p>\n

Firms will be asked for feedback on buildability, phasing and early contractor involvement before the formal tendering process begins next year.<\/p>\n

The London transport project is still subject to full Treasury approval, with hopes that the Chancellor will formally back the scheme in the forthcoming Autumn budget.<\/p>\n

Supplier engagement day<\/h3>\n

An in-person Supplier Industry Day will take place on 2 December 2025 at 1 Park Crescent, London W1B 1SH. Registration is through TfL\u2019s SAP Ariba e-tendering portal and must be completed by 25 November. Each company can send up to three representatives.<\/p>\n

After the event, TfL will issue a Market Sounding Questionnaire on 5 December, with responses due by 31 January 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The full procurement is expected to launch in June 2026, followed by contract award in March 2027. Construction is planned to start in 2028 and finish by 2033.<\/p>\n
