{"id":33437,"date":"2025-11-30T12:03:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-30T20:03:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/crane-load-failure-at-hinkley-video\/"},"modified":"2025-11-30T12:03:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-30T20:03:11","slug":"crane-load-failure-at-hinkley-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/crane-load-failure-at-hinkley-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Crane load failure at Hinkley: Video"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"post-503807\">\n\t<!-- .entry-header --><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>The <em>Enquirer<\/em> has been forwarded the video which has been widely circulated on social media.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Crane load falling at the giant Hinkley Point C nuclear construction site\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3m5M8C7g-Mw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Main contractor Bylor \u2013 the joint venture of Bouygues\u00a0and Laing O\u2019Rourke \u2013 is understood to have suspended all similar lifting operations after the accident.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Enquirer<\/em> understands the incident occurred earlier this month when two assembled formwork shutters were stacked and lifted together.<\/p>\n<p>During the lift the bottom shutter broke in half and the second shutter fell to the ground below where an exclusion zone was in place and no personnel were injured.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Hinkley Point C said: \u201cIn early November, during lifting works, a panel fell onto scaffolding within an exclusion zone established for the lift. No one was hurt. Safety is our highest priority at Hinkley Point C.
