OTTAWA \u2014 Marvell Technology Inc., a provider of data infrastructure semiconductor solutions, is investing $238 million for a five-year expansion.<\/p>\n
The plan includes the launch of a new office in Toronto as well as the scaling of the company\u2019s semiconductor research and development (R&D) operations in Ottawa and York Region, and the establishment of a new 8,000-square-foot optical lab.<\/p>\n
The expansion will also create up to 350 jobs across Ontario\u2019s technology corridor.<\/p>\n
According to a release from the province, specialized semiconductors are an essential component for AI infrastructure.<\/p>\n
\u201cMarvell is driving innovation in custom AI silicon and connectivity solutions that enable cloud data centre customers to deploy efficient, higher-performance computing systems to drive the next wave of AI innovation,\u201d the release adds.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs global demand for semiconductors intensifies,\u00a0Marvell\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0investment will leverage Ontario\u2019s world-class tech workers and give the province a competitive advantage as a global hub for semiconductor technology and AI infrastructure.
