His drive and vision have led to the successful leadership of a newly acquired division, the creation of an ex-forces training pipeline and the introduction of structured professional development. With a strong focus on sustainability and innovation, Rory\u2019s achievements reflect maturity beyond his years \u2013 inspiring those around him and setting a high standard for the next generation of industry leaders.<\/p>\n The judges said of Rory\u2019s nomination: \u201cVery good examples were given of impact and measurable results. Also good in terms of integrating 16 new employees\u201d. Rory \u201chas contributed very positively to his company\u2019s culture and appears to have delivered an impact\u201d. Finally, the entry showed \u201cexcellent alignment with LEEA\u2019s mission and values\u201d.<\/p>\n Runner up<\/strong> is Blagoy Manzurov of Sunbelt Rentals.<\/p>\n Excellence in People Development <\/strong>recognises individuals and organisations that champion the growth and development of their people, creating a culture where learning, innovation and excellence can thrive.<\/p>\n The winner is SCE Academy, Street Cranexpress Ltd<\/strong>. Street Cranexpress is leading the way in developing the next generation of lifting professionals through its innovative SCE Academy. By providing structured training and mentorship and clear career paths, the company has seen real success, including apprentices who have completed Level 3 Diplomas and progressed to fully qualified engineers. Partnering with the University of Sheffield\u2019s advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, the Academy combines world-class technical training with specialist industry knowledge. This forward-thinking approach not only creates high-quality local jobs but also helps secure the future of the UK Lifting industry to ensure a strong, skilled workforce for years to come.<\/p>\n The judges said this detailed and well supported entry highlighted \u201cgenuine dedication to workforce development\u201d and the clearly articulated submission showed \u201cmeaningful investment in skills and training\u201d as well as \u201cconvincing evidence of a proactive approach to nurturing and empowering people\u201d.<\/p>\n Runner up<\/strong> is MGF.<\/p>\n Technical Excellence and Professionalism Award<\/strong> recognises individuals who not only excel in their technical expertise but also set the standard for professionalism and leadership within their field. He takes the time to fully understand legislation, standards and best practice to ensure informed and effective decisions. Instrumental in building and growing Select Plant Hire\u2019s Test & Inspection department, Justin played a key role in achieving and maintaining UKAS ISO 17020 accreditation. His passion, expertise and relentless drive for improvement have helped the department win multiple industry awards and set new benchmarks on major construction projects. It honours those who go above and beyond to inspire, guide and develop others, making a tangible impact on their learning and success. Candidates for this award consistently show a passion for sharing knowledge, fostering growth and raising standards within the lifting industry, helping to shape the next generation of skilled professionals.<\/p>\n The winner is Jim Beauchamp, Boilermaker National Training Trust Fund \/ International Brotherhood of Boilermakers.<\/strong> Jim Beauchamp\u2019s influence as a trainer goes far beyond numbers. It is seen in the lasting transformation he inspires in individuals, organisations and the rigging industry as a whole. Through his leadership of the ITI Master Rigger Training Program, Jim has driven measurable improvements in learner performance, workplace safety and workforce development. Since its launch, he has successfully established the program in Alberta and Ontario, training over 486 participants across Canada, with exceptional completion and retention rates. Graduates consistently report meaningful skill development and understanding, describing the program as a career-defining experience that has deepened their knowledge and confidence in the trade.<\/p>\n The judges said: \u201cJim has changed the way people think about rigging in Canada. Nearly 500 workers have trained under him, and many say it\u2019s the best learning experience of their careers. He teaches with passion and clarity, helping people not just to pass courses, but to truly understand, take pride in and work safer in their trade.\u201d They also said: \u201cJim brings rigging to life in a way few trainers can. His blend of old-school know-how and modern teaching tools makes complex ideas click for everyone in the room. We look for clear examples of tackling sustainability challenges, whether in workforce practices, energy use, or supply chains. Shortlisted candidates demonstrate measurable success in improving business practices, reducing environmental impact, and building long-term resilience.<\/p>\n The winner is pewag UK Group<\/strong>, which is taking sustainability into its own hands by generating renewable energy in-house through photovoltaic systems, hydroelectric plants, and a biomass power plant. Entries should highlight measurable impact, proactive risk management, and initiatives that go beyond compliance to make lifting operations safer for everyone involved.<\/p>\n The winner is Aluminium Bahrain BSC (Alba). <\/strong>Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) sets the standard for industrial safety with its \u2018Safety First, Safety Always\u2019 culture. Its commitment to protecting employees is measurable and impressive: as of September 2025, Alba achieved 39 million safe working hours without a Lost Time Injury, a record-setting milestone. He worked closely with his colleagues to develop a lifting strategy that delivered outstanding safety and efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
