CALEDON, ONT. \u2014 The Ontario government has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to design an extension of Highway\u00a0410<\/a> that will connect to the future Highway\u00a0413.<\/p>\n Specifically, the province is seeking proposals to design a 9.1-kilometre extension from Highway\u00a0410 at Countryside Drive north to Highway\u00a0413, and from Highway\u00a0413 west to Highway\u00a010. This extension will give drivers a direct link between the two highways, cutting travel times and relieving gridlock on local roads, a release reads.<\/p>\n The extension of Highway\u00a0410 is one of several projects underway as work begins on the new Highway\u00a0413 corridor. In August, Ontario awarded the\u00a0first two construction contracts<\/a>\u00a0to build Highway\u00a0413. In addition, the province recently completed\u00a0upgrades to the Highway\u00a0401\/407 interchange, the western terminus of Highway\u00a0413.<\/p>\n Once complete, Highway\u00a0413 will extend from Highway\u00a0400 in the east to the Highway\u00a0401\/407 interchange in the west.<\/p>\n Construction of Highway\u00a0413 will support more than 6,000 jobs per year, the release adds.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
