Nicholson steps in as chief executive bringing more than three decades\u2019 experience with some of big house builders, including senior executive posts at Crest Nicholson and Linden Homes, as well a senior sales roles at Berkeley Homes and Ideal Homes earlier in his career.<\/p>\n
He spent the past year as a non-executive on the Cala board and succeeds Kevin Whitaker who steps down after eight years as chief executive.<\/p>\n
Whitaker\u2019s departure marks the end of a period of strong growth for Cala under private-equity ownership and longstanding shareholder support. <\/p>\n
Nicholson now takes on the task of shaping the next strategic cycle at a time when softer demand, stubborn build costs and planning friction continue to weigh on the sector.<\/p>\n
