Rising quickly in Toronto\u2019s Junction neighbourhood, Craft Residences<\/a> has climbed to near topping off in less than a year since construction began in February, 2025. Designed by BDP Quadrangle<\/a> for Gairloch Developments<\/a> and Tenblock<\/a>, the 9-storey mid-rise is situated between Gilmour and Quebec avenues, with its stepped massing and rounded corner form now clearly established along the Dundas Street West frontage.<\/p>\n Viewed looking northwest in May, 2025, excavation work is well underway for the single underground level. In the foreground, a stepped excavation at the southeast corner nearest the camera shows soil removal progressing, while a yellow tracked excavator operates further into the site alongside smaller compact tracked equipment. Along the rear of the image, the shoring system lining the north elevation is clearly visible.<\/p>\n At the end of that month, a mobile crane is captured mid-operation as it is used to assemble the crane, its boom hoisting the crane\u2019s operating cab and tower peak into position from behind trees, the crane mast already rising above the street. Traffic control measures and lane reductions are visible below.<\/p>\n Looking into the site in August, 2025, Craft Residences advanced to grade the month before, with early structural elements taking shape around the crane near the northwest corner. Concrete walls are visible with protruding rebar, adjacent to formwork and construction crews clustered at the centre of the site. Materials and prefabricated components are staged along the Dundas Street frontage.<\/p>\n By December, 2025, construction had reached six storeys. Vertical precast concrete panels are now being installed along the west elevation, beginning to articulate the facade ahead of insulation and cladding made up of an alternating pattern of vertical running bond brick and vertical soldier brick. A step-back is visible at the fifth floor along the south elevation.<\/p>\n Looking northwest, enclosure work is progressing along the south and east elevations, with green weatherproofing lining the second and third floors in advance of cladding installation and white tarping to protect the lower levels adjacent to the existing low-rise buildings. The south elevation\u2019s geometry is now clearly legible, with offset floor plates creating projecting and recessed bays, creating an angular massing for the street-facing profile along Dundas. Translucent tarp is seen on the sixth floor, and formwork is in place for the forthcoming seventh-floor slab pour.<\/p>\n Later that month, Craft Residences stood at seven storeys, with green weatherproofing applied across the south elevation up to the fifth floor. A construction hoist is installed near the centre of the Dundas Street frontage. Above, beyond a further step-back at the seventh floor, formwork is visible for the eighth-floor slab pour. At grade, white tarping conceals openings where residential and retail entrances are being prepared, with spandrel glazing slated for opaque sections of the window wall system above, while pre-installation components for brick cladding are visible along the west elevation, to be complemented by glass balcony railings.<\/p>\n Once complete, Craft Residences will stand 36m tall and deliver 87 condominium units.<\/p>\n UrbanToronto will continue to follow progress on this development, but in the meantime, you can learn more about it from our Database file, linked below.
