Hard Rock International is bringing an $850 million music-inspired hospitality and entertainment venue<\/a> to Puerto Rico\u2019s capital city.\u00a0<\/p>\n The company will develop Hard Rock Hotel & Casino San Juan in partnership with Misla Hospitality, Stonecrest Investment Management and The Interfin Companies, according to a Thursday announcement. Construction on the new-build project will commence later this year, with an opening anticipated for 2029.\u00a0<\/p>\n Designed by Las Vegas-based interior design firm Klai Juba Wald and Puerto Rico\u2019s CMA Architects, the new Hard Rock will be \u201cinspired by the island\u2019s cultural and musical heritage\u201d and incorporate work from local artists, per the release. The property will span 415 rooms, 58 suites and 186 branded residences.\u00a0<\/p>\n Carrying the music theme throughout, the property will feature event venues, a recording studio and local music memorabilia. Additional amenities will include the signature Rock Spa, a fitness center and three terrace-level pools as well as a kids\u2019 club, arcade and designated \u201cteen hangout spaces,\u201d according to Hard Rock. Guests will also have access to multiple on-site dining options, including casual poolside and upscale concepts and multiple bars.\u00a0<\/p>\n The property represents Hard Rock\u2019s first Puerto Rican destination as well as the first integrated casino, per the release.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cMusic is at the heart of both Hard Rock and Puerto Rico, making this a perfect union,\u201d Jeff Hook, chief operating officer at Hard Rock International, said in the release. \u201cSan Juan is a natural extension of our portfolio, creating a seamless Hard Rock experience for guests traveling between our international properties.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Hard Rock International has a global portfolio spanning more than 300 venues, including hotels,\u202fcasinos, retails shops, live performance locations and cafes.<\/p>\n Across the U.S., Hard Rock is collaborating on the $8.1 billion Metropolitan Park mixed-use hotel casino project<\/a> in New York as well as transforming The Mirage Hotel & Casino<\/a> in Las Vegas to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas, a nearly 700-foot guitar-shaped hotel on the Strip.
