{"id":34274,"date":"2026-02-12T14:14:17","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T22:14:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/navan-electrical-contracting-company-faces-50000-fine-after-worker-injured\/"},"modified":"2026-02-12T14:14:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T22:14:17","slug":"navan-electrical-contracting-company-faces-50000-fine-after-worker-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/navan-electrical-contracting-company-faces-50000-fine-after-worker-injured\/","title":{"rendered":"Navan electrical contracting company faces $50,000 fine after worker injured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>NAVAN, ONT. \u2013 An electrical contracting company providing powerline and utility services, Sega Group Inc. of Navan, Ont., has been fined after a worker was injured in a July 2023 incident.<\/p>\n<p>Sega Group Inc. was the constructor of a project to replace five existing concrete street light posts on the east side of Manotick Main Street, east of downtown Ottawa.<\/p>\n<p>On July 12, 2023, workers were removing the first post, which had a poured concrete base, making it very heavy, an Ontario court bulletin notes.<\/p>\n<p>To prevent the post from falling, the operator of a crane truck hoisted the post and attempted to lower it to the ground.<\/p>\n<p>While doing so the operator pressed the button that released the clamp holding the top of the post.
