The contractor will take the Grade II listed building through Stage 3 and 4 design ahead of a full overhaul that will bring the 1937 Art Deco landmark back into full use as the Brigade\u2019s HQ for around 840 staff.<\/p>\n
Plans include full renewal of mechanical, electrical and public health systems, new life safety installations, window replacement, re-roofing and recladding of the 1980s CMC extension.<\/p>\n
New lifts, partitions, ceilings and finishes will be installed, alongside refurbishment of the appliance bays and basement.<\/p>\n
The ground to second floor fire station will temporarily vacate during works, due to start mid-2027.<\/p>\n
Procured via the SCAPE construction framework, the scheme will include SME engagement, job creation and an on-site construction skills academy.<\/p>\n
