The 400,000 ft\u00b2 complex will be delivered through a design-build-finance-maintain agreement between <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/snohetta.8058\" target=\"_blank\">Infrastructure Ontario<\/a> and private partners Ontario Science Partners, a consortium led by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/agentis-capital-advisors.60469\" target=\"_blank\">Agentis Capital Advisors<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/amico-infrastructures.46412\" target=\"_blank\">Amico Infrastructures<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/sacyr-construction.53277\" target=\"_blank\">Sacyr Construction<\/a>, and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/john-laing-limited.60468\" target=\"_blank\">John Laing Ltd<\/a>. Ontario Place&#8217;s existing pods would be restored and retrofitted as fully modernized science and ancillary use environments.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Cinesphere would undergo interior and exterior enhancements, and updates to its IMAX theatre systems. Seating capacity in the Cinesphere would be double compared to the former OMNIMAX theatre at the Science Centre\u2019s previous site. The expanded facility would host hands-on exhibitions, workshops, and interactive programming, with broadened opportunities for experiential learning. Plans call for more than 50 acres of publicly accessible open space, including expanded green areas, lakeside walking and cycling paths, playgrounds, interactive water features, and new urban beaches connected by boardwalks and bridges. The East Island is slated to accommodate family-oriented activity zones and event spaces, while the marina would be modernized with upgraded boat slips and adjacent public gathering areas.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/rbc-amphitheatre.50526\" target=\"_blank\">RBC Amphitheatre<\/a>, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/news\/2025\/10\/live-nation-moves-redevelop-budweiser-stage-rbc-amphitheatre.59692\" target=\"_blank\">redevelopment of the Budweiser Stage<\/a>, is set to operate as an all-season venue with increased capacity. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/therme-group.50401\" target=\"_blank\">Therme Group<\/a>\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/ontario-place-west-island-therme-spa.50403\" target=\"_blank\">spa and waterpark facility<\/a> on the West Island. Additional elements include a revitalized marina precinct, and new event spaces.
