Cladding continues to advance at Cielo Condos<\/a> as the 34-storey tower approaches the final floors of its ascent above Bloor Street West in central Toronto. Designed by KPMB Architects<\/a> for Collecdev-Markee Developments<\/a>, the condominium is rising at the northwest corner of Bloor and Huron in The Annex, behind the retained Gothic Revival stone walls and twin green-patinated towers of Bloor Street United Church. With ERA Architects<\/a> overseeing heritage conservation, the project is defined by its preserved masonry at grade and a contemporary tower above. UrbanToronto’s last update was in January, 2026<\/a>, when cladding had recently started.<\/p>\n Looking southwest this month, Cielo has climbed to approximately 27 storeys, entering the final stretch of its rise. The cast-in-place concrete frame reads as two vertical volumes and a recessed central bay along the north elevation, with slab edges lined in red perimeter safety fencing. On the east elevation above the retained church walls, three residential storeys have received cladding, along with three storeys of cladding along the north face. Within the recessed inner wall, white weatherproofing extends up roughly nine storeys.\u00a0<\/p>\n At the north end of the podium, the structural framework is already setting up the future connection to the retained George C. Pidgeon House. Canted concrete columns along the north elevation mark where the podium will cantilever over the subway infrastructure below, allowing the restored Victorian-era house to be connected with the new development.\u00a0<\/p>\n A closer view highlights the advancing facade installation. Along the north elevation, window wall glazing is now set behind the projecting balcony slabs, paired with grey spandrel panels and louvres. To the left, precast cladding panels are being installed, projecting slightly beyond the dark window wall system to create depth. Angled, lighter-toned sections at the base introduce a faceted expression.<\/p>\n A few days later, we look north across Bloor to see the tower rising behind the preserved Gothic Revival stone walls of the church. Three residential storeys have been fitted with window wall glazing, grey spandrel panels, and louvres. The projecting balcony slabs remain lined with red temporary fencing. To the right, along the east elevation\u2019s north-oriented volume, white weatherproofing now extends roughly 13 storeys upward, signalling preparation for the next phase of cladding installation.\u00a0<\/p>\n Cielo Condos will stand 130.35m and house 349 condominium units upon completion.<\/p>\n UrbanToronto will continue to follow progress on this development, but in the meantime, you can learn more about it from our Database file, linked below.
