The project \u2014 which NCDOT estimated cost $1 billion \u2014 acts as a <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncdot.gov\/projects\/fayetteville-outer-loop\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>beltway around the western portion of <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Fayetteville<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span>, connecting U.S. 401 in the north back to I-95 to the south of the metropolitan area.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>NDOT said the 39-mile outer loop also serves as a crucial direct connection to Fort Bragg, the largest military base in the country, reducing travel times throughout the region.
