Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Villas has completed more than $100 million in renovations, bringing a unique lagoon and waterfront event venue to the property, according to a release obtained by Hotel Dive.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The 522-room, ranch-inspired resort, set on 300 secluded acres just outside of San Antonio, underwent a multiphase, three-year update to enhance the guest experience while honoring its heritage as a former cattle ranch, which operated for more than a century.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n To cap off the renovation, the property debuted a 2.2-acre human-made lagoon called The Big Spring, the waterfront event venue Rancher Hall and Toptracer Range golf bays.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n According to Hyatt, The Big Spring marks the first lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons technology inside a central U.S. resort, per the release. It features white sand beaches, premium cabanas and a variety of water sports and activities to bring a beach feel to Hill Country.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The lagoon, which Nicol\u00e1s Galotti, regional director at Crystal Lagoons, said in a statement \u201csets a new benchmark for resort experiences,\u201d joins the resort\u2019s existing 5-acre water park, which also includes a lazy river and an adults-only Texas-shaped pool.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Adjacent to the lagoon is the restaurant Aunt Di\u2019s, named after a family member of the hotel\u2019s developer and ownership group, Dallas-based Woodbine Development Corporation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Overlooking The Big Spring is Rancher Hall, which boasts 5,600 square feet of flexible indoor\/outdoor event space with oversized windows, vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams and a patio and ceremony lawn surrounded by live oak trees, per the release.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The 35 new Toptracer Range golf bays, which \u201coffer a lounge feel that lends perfectly to group and leisure events,\u201d per the release, feature high-tech cameras that track ball movement.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Villas renovations that took place in summer 2025 saw the debut of five standalone villas, named after Hill Country rivers. Each 2,336-square-foot villa features four bedrooms, a patio with outdoor seating, a fully equipped kitchen and other \u201cupscale in-room amenities.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cFrom the addition of Texas\u2019 newest beach to standalone villas, every enhancement was designed to preserve the warm, welcoming atmosphere that defines our resort and inspires guests to return year after year,\u201d said Steve Smith, general manager of Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Villas, in a statement.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The resort is within driving distance from the San Antonio International Airport and other downtown tourist attractions, including the River Walk and Alamo, per the release. Recent hotel additions to the area include the $185 million, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>200-room Monarch San Antonio<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> from Hilton as well as the historic <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>315-room El S\u00edtio Tropicano<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, set to reopen this fall.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Additionally, the newly renovated resort follows other luxury developments in Texas\u2019 Hill Country, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>known for its numerous wineries and outdoor recreation opportunities<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>. IHG Hotels & Resorts plans to open a <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>210-room Kimpton hotel in Fredericksburg<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, Texas, in 2027, while <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Hilton\u2019s Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts brand<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> will make its Texas debut also in Fredericksburg next year.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
