The site currently contains a mix of one- and two-storey commercial and residential buildings, including several heritage properties, alongside multiple surface parking areas and a private laneway. Subsequent revisions increased the scale to 29 and 35 storeys with 739 units, before a final iteration was approved by Toronto City Council in July 2022 for 29- and 35-storey towers with 733 units.<\/p>\n<p><imgx class=\"image-display_default\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.skyrisecities.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/articles\/2026\/04\/60861\/60861-196892.jpeg\" data-entity-uuid=\"insert-display_default-cb233793-7588-4b39-90c9-167d037aa6b0\" data-entity-type=\"file\" alt=\"2022 plan, 1956 Weston, Toronto, designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects for Weston Asset Management\" title=\"2022 plan designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects for Weston Asset Management\" onclick=\"photo('https:\/\/cdn.skyrisecities.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/articles\/2026\/04\/60861\/60861-196892.jpeg', true, '2022 plan designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects for Weston Asset Management'); return false;\"><span class=\"image-description\">2022 plan designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects for Weston Asset Management<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The new resubmission builds on that approval, with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/wnd-associates-ltd.27973\" target=\"_blank\">WND Associates Ltd<\/a> having submitted Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment applications to the City of Toronto on behalf of the developer. This proposal would retain the two-tower configuration while substantially increasing scale, bringing the heights to 130.2m and 149.15m, up from 102.2m and 120.2m. Both towers would rise from a shared 5-storey podium, reduced from the earlier 8-storey base. The updated design would increase tower spacing to between 21.4m and 25m, exceeding the previous minimum separation distance of 20m, while introducing slimmer upper floor-plates through tiered step-backs. Gross Floor Area would rise from 56,250m\u00b2 to 63,907m\u00b2, including 61,936m\u00b2 of residential space and 1,971m\u00b2 of non-residential uses, resulting in a Floor Space Index of 11 times coverage of the 5,809m\u00b2 assembly, up from 9.17 times coverage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><imgx class=\"image-display_default\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.skyrisecities.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/articles\/2026\/04\/60861\/60861-196893.jpg\" data-entity-uuid=\"insert-display_default-e67370e1-48c7-4e8b-9bc2-a7fe6dbfd6ae\" data-entity-type=\"file\" alt=\"1956 Weston, Toronto, designed by KIRKOR Architects and Planners for Weston Asset Management\" title=\"Looking southeast to the podium, designed by KIRKOR Architects and Planners for Weston Asset Management\" onclick=\"photo('https:\/\/cdn.skyrisecities.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/articles\/2026\/04\/60861\/60861-196893.jpg', true, 'Looking southeast to the podium, designed by KIRKOR Architects and Planners for Weston Asset Management'); return false;\"><span class=\"image-description\">Looking southeast to the podium, designed by KIRKOR Architects and Planners for Weston Asset Management<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The proposal would deliver 774 residential units, an increase from 733. While the earlier proposal was heavily weighted toward one-bedroom units, the revised plan introduces a wider range, including 53 studios, 233 one-bedrooms, 373 two-bedrooms, and 115 three-bedroom units. There would be eight elevators (four per tower), equating to roughly one elevator per 97 units across the development. Residential amenities would total 3,274m\u00b2, exceeding the previously approved 2,932m\u00b2, with 2,183m\u00b2 provided indoors and 1,091m\u00b2 outdoors. A 316m\u00b2 non-profit community cultural space would be included in the retained heritage structure along Little Avenue, with heritage retention overseen by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/gbca-architects.7997\" target=\"_blank\">GBCA Architects<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Below grade, three levels of underground parking would accommodate 268 vehicle spaces, a reduction from 357 previously approved, including 209 residential spaces, 56 visitor and non-residential spaces, and 3 car-share spaces, with a small number of visitor spaces at grade. Surface transit includes TTC routes operating directly along Weston Road and within a short walk along Lawrence Avenue West.
