The Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation planning committee has backed plans to replace a redundant warehouse with a three-storey, liquid-cooled facility designed by Scott Brownrigg.<\/p>\n
The 22,365 sq m scheme will house nine data halls alongside office space, plant, storage and a secure entrance pavilion, supported by a dedicated substation to power the high-capacity site.<\/p>\n
Construction is set to start in 2026.<\/p>\n
The project is being delivered by a joint venture between Pure Data Centres Group and SEGRO as demand for AI-ready digital infrastructure accelerates across London.<\/p>\n Designed around a simple, linear layout, the building is engineered to maximise IT capacity and operational efficiency while maintaining a strong visual presence, particularly for passing rail passengers along the northern boundary.<\/p>\n The scheme is targeting BREEAM Excellent and A-rated EPC office space, with sustainability measures including photovoltaic panels, rainwater harvesting and potential heat recovery systems.<\/p>\n Sam Stevens, head of advanced technologies at Scott Brownrigg, said: \u201cWorking collaboratively with the local authority and key stakeholders has allowed the team to deliver a high-quality design with unanimous support from the planning committee.\u201d<\/p>\n The approval adds another major digital infrastructure project to Park Royal as the area strengthens its position as a key west London industrial and logistics hub.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n![\"-\"](\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/datacentre2.avif\")
