{"id":35335,"date":"2026-05-08T06:08:34","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T13:08:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/marten-falls-first-nation-selects-hatch-for-community-access-road-engineering\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T06:08:34","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T13:08:34","slug":"marten-falls-first-nation-selects-hatch-for-community-access-road-engineering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/marten-falls-first-nation-selects-hatch-for-community-access-road-engineering\/","title":{"rendered":"Marten Falls First Nation selects Hatch for community access road engineering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>MARTEN FALLS FIRST NATION, ONT. \u2014 Marten Falls First Nation has announced it has selected Hatch to act as its engineering and project management partner to help support the design and delivery of the Marten Falls Community Access Road.<\/p>\n<p>The two also signed a memorandum of understanding in relation to the multi\u2011purpose infrastructure project that will provide year\u2011round access to the community for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed road will extend approximately 184 kilometres from the northern end of the Painter Lake forestry road to the Marten Falls First Nation community, connecting the community to Ontario\u2019s provincial highway network, explains a release.<\/p>\n<p>The Marten Falls Community Access Road is located approximately 400 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay, which is currently only accessible by air, with winter roads available seasonally.<\/p>\n<p>Hatch and Marten Falls First Nation will work together to support broader community infrastructure needs that enable long\u2011term well\u2011being, such as power and other essential services, alongside transportation, the release adds.<\/p>\n<p>Hatch will also provide advisory support to help Marten Falls First Nation plan for long\u2011term operations and community benefits, including assessing operational needs, workforce requirements, and training pathways.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/canada.constructconnect.com\/dcn\/news\/economic\/2026\/05\/marten-falls-first-nation-bird-construction-form-majority-indigenous-owned-partnership\" target=\"_blank\">Marten Falls First Nation and Bird Construction<\/a> entered into a strategic alliance through the formation of Piinahzii Limited Partnership.
