The Northampton-based building services contractor said the forward workload now represents around two years of future work.<\/p>\n
The pipeline is up 18% from \u00a3435m last year and includes \u00a3221m of secured orders plus a further \u00a3290m of contracts in final negotiation.<\/p>\n
That covers 89% of next year\u2019s budgeted turnover and 72% of the following year.<\/p>\n
The order book surge came despite turnover slipping 3% to \u00a3240m in the year to 31 October 2025.<\/p>\n
But tighter project selection and better procurement routes helped boost underlying profit before impairment and tax rise from \u00a32.3m to \u00a33.2m.<\/p>\n
The group said it had focused on building a better-quality workload with long-standing clients, developers, end users and main contractors looking for reliable delivery partners.<\/p>\n
Current and future project partners include Galliford Try, Willmott Dixon, McLaren and Multiplex.<\/p>\n
Jeremy Askew, group finance director at Briggs & Forrester, said: \u201cThis year\u2019s performance reflects the strength of our underlying business and the discipline shown across all parts of the Group.<\/p>\n
\u201cDespite a small reduction in turnover, we delivered a significant improvement in profitability, strengthened our cash position, and achieved a record order book that gives us excellent visibility for the next two years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cash at bank improved to \u00a323.3m despite the business making \u00a35.8m of Employee Ownership Trust payments during the year.<\/p>\n
The group said all three core divisions made a profit, generated cash and increased net assets.<\/p>\n
Engineering Services lifted profit by a third despite slightly lower turnover around \u00a3100m, helped by improved project selection and tighter delivery controls.<\/p>\n
Living grew both turnover and profit, with its order book surging 67% to give the business visibility for the next two to three years.<\/p>\n
Special Projects saw turnover fall sharply but stayed profitable through strict overhead control and stronger commercial management.<\/p>\n
The accounts also revealed a \u00a35.5m disposal profit from the sale of Briggs & Forrester Building Services Maintenance to BGIS in December 2024, generating \u00a36m of net cash proceeds helping to support reserves.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
