Cambridgeshire County Council, acting for the Greater Cambridge Partnership, is seeking to appoint a single contractor to deliver the transport scheme.<\/p>\n
The scheme will deliver a new dedicated busway linking the fast-growing settlement of Cambourne with Cambridge, alongside a new park-and-ride site aimed at cutting congestion on the A428 corridor.<\/p>\n
Construction is expected to start in early 2027 with works running through to the end of 2031.<\/p>\n
The route will require new bridges over the M11 and Bin Brook.<\/p>\n
The council plans to procure the job through a two-stage tender using an NEC4 Option C target cost contract with X22 early contractor involvement.<\/p>\n
Stage one will cover surveys, TWAO design validation, preliminary and detailed design, construction programming, buildability reviews, logistics planning and target cost development<\/p>\n
Subcontract packages will be tendered on an open-book basis, with the client and project manager given full visibility of returns and adjustments.<\/p>\n
Bidders will also have to submit fixed overhead and profit percentages to be applied across both stages of the contract.<\/p>\n
Requests to participate must be submitted by noon on 2 July 2026 through the ProContract portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n An award decision is pencilled in for 14 December 2026, with the contract due to run from 4 January 2027 to 31 December 2030.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
