{"id":35664,"date":"2026-06-05T07:23:25","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T14:23:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/knights-brown-rides-coastal-work-boom-to-record-profit-haul\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T07:23:25","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T14:23:25","slug":"knights-brown-rides-coastal-work-boom-to-record-profit-haul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/knights-brown-rides-coastal-work-boom-to-record-profit-haul\/","title":{"rendered":"Knights Brown rides coastal work boom to record profit haul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The specialist contractor increased turnover 17% to \u00a3136m in the year to March 2026, up from \u00a3116m previously, while pre-tax profit climbed 62% to \u00a34.6m from \u00a32.8m.<\/p>\n<p>Operating margin rose to 3.3% from 2.5% a year earlier as project delivery and commercial performance improved across the business.<\/p>\n<p>The 350-strong firm has sharpened its focus around four core divisions, creating dedicated Energy and Water businesses while delivering coasts and ports, infrastructure and building projects through its Southern &amp; South East and Wales regional operations.<\/p>\n<p>Coastal defence and marine infrastructure schemes remained a major growth driver during the year, while Knights Brown also expanded its presence in grid infrastructure, battery storage and renewable energy projects across the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The contractor strengthened its position ahead of the AMP8 spending cycle, securing framework opportunities and building a longer-term pipeline with key water clients.<\/p>\n<p>Knights Brown ended the year with \u00a312.6m in cash and net assets rising to \u00a35.3m from \u00a33.2m, leaving it well placed to fund further growth.<\/p>\n<p>Group managing director Kevin Valentine said: \u201cThis has been another very strong year for Knights Brown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve remained focused on the markets where we can add real value, particularly in coasts &amp; ports, energy and water, and that clarity is translating into both growth and improved performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust as importantly, we\u2019ve strengthened the foundations of the business, from our financial position to the way we\u2019re structured to deliver for clients.
