{"id":35702,"date":"2026-06-11T19:37:20","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T02:37:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/allied-london-unveils-landmark-castlefield-tower-plan\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T19:37:20","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T02:37:20","slug":"allied-london-unveils-landmark-castlefield-tower-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/allied-london-unveils-landmark-castlefield-tower-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Allied London unveils landmark Castlefield tower plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"post-508989\">\n\t<!-- .entry-header --><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Developer Allied London is behind the plan to replace a stalled scheme at the site that never got off the ground.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed One Castlefield development would see a 46-storey tower and an adjoining eight-storey block rise on Ellesmere Street, plugging the final gap in the wider St George\u2019s regeneration masterplan.<\/p>\n<p>Acting for investor Chatha Capital, Allied London has launched a public consultation on the project ahead of submitting a planning application.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme revives a site that has sat empty since demolition works were completed following the collapse of an earlier \u00a375m, 419-home development promoted by DeTrafford.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screenshot-2026-06-11-at-07.55.36.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-508991\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screenshot-2026-06-11-at-07.55.36.png\" alt=\"-\" width=\"1454\" height=\"1112\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Architect Denton Corker Marshall has redesigned the project, boosting housing numbers by more than 40% to deliver 593 flats across the two buildings.<\/p>\n<p>The tower would contain 436 homes while a lower-rise block would provide a further 157 flats.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the homes would be one and two-bedroom flats, although the scheme also includes a smaller number of three and four-bedroom family-sized properties.<\/p>\n<p>Gary Mather, development director at Allied London, said: \u201cOne Castlefield represents an opportunity to bring a long-vacant brownfield site back into productive use and complete the final undeveloped parcel within the wider St George\u2019s regeneration masterplan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following consultation, Allied London intends to submit plans to Manchester City Council later this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- .entry-content --><\/p>\n<footer class=\"entry-meta\">\n<div class=\"author-info\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\">\n<div class=\"author-avatar\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\">\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/userphoto\/2.jpg\" alt=\"Aaron Morby\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"photo\">\t\t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- .author-info -->\t\t\t<\/footer>\n<\/div>\n<p>[ad_2]<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/2026\/06\/11\/508989\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">This article was originally posted at Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ad_1] Developer Allied London is behind the plan to replace a stalled scheme at the site that never got off &#8230;
