As more software companies move to SaaS (software-as-a-service) utilizing a cloud platform, construction companies are seeking ways to use those services to their best advantage. That\u2019s not only true in the U.S., but across the globe and aggressive companies see opportunities in foreign markets. One such company is Texas-based ECI Software Solutions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In October this past year, it purchased Merchant Systems Group Limited, the U.K.-based developer of the eCommonSense<\/a> platform, an eCommerce and product data management solution specifically designed for lumber and building materials, hardware\/home center, and related home supply dealers. Designed by a tradesman specifically for the building materials supply sector, eCommonSense integrates with the most common business management systems so that building suppliers can improve efficiency, grow profitably, and increase customer satisfaction. eCommonSense will join ECI\u2019s LBM and Hardlines group, which will leverage eCommonSense as both an integration to its cloud-based ERP solutions as well as a standalone global eCommerce solution.<\/p>\n

Then in November, ECI acquired INSEARCH<\/a>, a cloud-based construction business-management solution. INSEARCH\u2019S I.D.A. Pro Cloud software is a 2D and 3D visualization tool that provides homebuyers with an interactive and transparent way to see and customize the home they\u2019re buying. Acquiring INSEARCH allows ECI to strengthen and expand the existing integration between INSEARCH and MarkSystems so that its MarkSystems users have access to one of the best 2D and 3D interactive software experiences on the market.<\/p>\n

INSEARCH will become part of ECI\u2019s Residential Home Construction Group, joining MarkSystems (ECI\u2019s flagship ERP for residential home builders); Lasso CRM (ECI\u2019s CRM solution built specifically for the homebuilding industry, including lead management, automated sales processes, email marketing and reporting capabilities); LotVue (ECI\u2019s cloud-based lot inventory management system for marketing and operations and land developers); BuildTools (ECI\u2019s cloud-based project management system for custom home building and remodeling); and Bolt (ECI\u2019s cloud-based construction business management solution for trade partners that includes contractor scheduling, project management, and estimating).<\/p>\n

Now, the company has acquired MyProduction Group AS<\/a>, an Oslo, Norway-based provider of integrated cloud solutions for manufacturing and logistics companies in the Nordics. MyProduction will become part of ECI Europe and expand ECI\u2019s presence into Norway and the surrounding Nordic region.<\/p>\n

MyProduction helps manufacturing and logistics companies become better at planning, optimizing and documenting important and value-creating processes. The company\u2019s software provides a cloud-based shop floor to swiftly start work without any training, inventory withdrawal, documentation and recording time spent on each operation, enabling companies to increase profitability and efficiency.<\/p>\n
