Office employees might be working remotely (stay-at-home mandates, while being lifted, are still in place in some states), but trades are on the jobsite. And that can cause a problem.

Are employees following the rules on exposure to the coronavirus? On the job, supervision can enforce those rules but after hours, anything can go. When the worker returns to the jobsite, adverse behavior on personal time can create health hazards for others. There may be an answer, however.

Mobile Health, a provider of employee screening and occupational health services, has launched a new “return-to-the-workplace” service that will screen and test employees for COVID-19 before they head to work and/or on-site. The program includes Mobile Health’s proprietary check-in software that employees complete remotely using their smartphones, resulting in a QR code to display before entering the workplace.

While Mobile Health admits that it isn’t practical or affordable for employers to test every employee every day for COVID-19, companies need a system to ensure the safest environment. Mobile Health’s offering is comprehensive, quick, and provides customized solutions to enable organizations to effectively manage the return of employees. It includes daily symptom monitoring, health assessments, on-site temperature screening, and COVID-19 testing by healthcare professionals who have themselves been screened and tested.

Mobile Health offers PPE (personal protective equipment) recommendations and there is a COVID-19 antigen test which produces results in 15 minutes as well as the more conclusive PCR test which detects the genetic material in the virus to effectively screen asymptomatic individuals. Originally only available in New York City, Mobile Health now offers consolidated occupational health services nationwide.

Mobile Health is seeing significant demand for its service from companies with traditional offices as well as construction businesses, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and colleges. The process includes maintenance of private online health questionnaire data as required by the EEOC.

Want to tweet about this article?
