{"id":8244,"date":"2022-02-15T09:03:54","date_gmt":"2022-02-15T17:03:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/?p=8244"},"modified":"2022-02-15T09:03:54","modified_gmt":"2022-02-15T17:03:54","slug":"masterplan-approved-for-bahrains-green-city-bilaj-al-jazayer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/masterplan-approved-for-bahrains-green-city-bilaj-al-jazayer\/","title":{"rendered":"Masterplan approved for Bahrain\u2019s green city Bilaj Al Jazayer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td-featured-image-rec\">\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldconstructiontoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/news\/15145\/Bilaj-Al-Jazayer.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain: Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), the real estate arm of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), announced that the general masterplan for the 1.3 million square meter mixed-use mega project \u201cBilaj Al Jazayer development\u201d has been approved by Bahrain\u2019s Higher Urban Planning Committee chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.<\/p>\n<p>Edamah\u2019s Chairman, Khalid Al Rumaihi, affirmed that the approved general masterplan is designed to achieve a balance between economic and social development and environmental sustainability in line with the Kingdom\u2019s commitment to bring carbon emissions to net zero by 2060. Al Rumaihi stated that the mixed-use coastal city will incorporate green and clean technologies to purify the air and reduce temperatures, as well as shaded walkways near key facilities to encourage walking and minimize the use of cars. He added that the buildings will also be designed in a way that reduces heat exposure, thereby reducing electricity required for air conditioning. The supporting infrastructure will include water recycling facilities as well as facilities for generating electricity from solar energy, which enhances the Kingdom of Bahrain\u2019s global position in protecting the environment and supporting sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>Edamah\u2019s Chairman said, \u201cBy working with our strategic partners such as UPDA and other government entities, we will continue to develop projects that are aligned with the vision and directions of the Government of Bahrain and the forward-looking Economic Recovery Plan.
