A contract document log is a list of all of the documents available on a construction project. It tracks the name, number, issue date and responsible party for each document. The purpose of it is to make clear what the latest set of drawings and specifications are and who they are issued from. Typically contractors keep this list to include with a construction tender bid in order to avoid any issues about what set of drawings they are working off of.
