Full Description
When you begin a task in construction it is important to put thought into the activity you’re about to perform. To force workers to perform this task you can ask them to create their own task specific safe work procedure. What is a task specific safe work procedure, how is it used and what is it used for?
A construction task specific safe work procedure is a document that workers on a construction site can use to identify the safety challenges with the task they are about to perform and the steps they will take to ensure they work safely. The inspection is typically performed at the start of the work shift and is one page identifying the risks of the tasks, safety personal protective equipment to be used (PPE) and steps to be undertaken by the worker.
When your workers are using a task specific safe work procedure you can feel safer knowing that there is a lower chance of incident on your construction site. In Canada and the United States many jurisdictions also require that the workers perform a safety review at the start of each task. This form will ensure you comply with those standards.
This form includes;
- Task performed
- Date
- Name of worker
- Hazard identification
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Steps for safety
- Signature of workers
