Drilling, cutting and coring are common activities on any jobsite. In many projects, services and openings need to be made in the slabs after they have been poured. One way of doing so is through:
- Coring – a large drilling machine creates a large hole in the slab.
- Cutting – a slab saw cuts a square or large hole in the slab.
Typically companies specialize in this type of work that you can hire, however, in some instances you need to perform it with your own team.
Because this is such a common activity, it may be necessary to require workers to complete a work permit prior to concrete cutting, coring and drilling. This document can provide that sign off for your jobsite.
