Working near open water such as oceans, lakes, rivers and streams comes with it’s own set of hazards. There are environmental concerns that need to be addressed, as well as safety concerns of the workers.
In order to ensure that safety procedures and precautions are in place, a work permit can be used. Requiring workers to check each of the specific items prior to commencement of work – all parties will be required to sign off that they are in place, including supervision.
